Submitted by Rachel* 13:41 Sun 15th November 2009* Reply (1) Hi, can you use underfloor heating with slate tiles? Thanks ReplyHi Rachel, yes t is possible to use underfloor heating with slate tiles. One recommendation is to have an adhesive notch of 12mm and a 9mm bed at least. This protects the tiles and the heating. Happy Building! Submitted by 09:52 Mon 16th November 2009

Submitted by dave smith* 21:09 Wed 20th May 2009* Reply (1) Hi, quick question, natural slate tiles 1. Are they smooth bottomed? 2. Are they approxthe same thickness or random thickness? ReplyAll natural slate tiles will vary in texture as they are quarried and removed from the ground. However, the texture will not affect the laying of the tiles, providing a correct level of adhesive is applied. Thanks ReplyHi Caroline, a natural product like slate should last as long as you want it to. However, to provide extra care and attention to the tiles will protect the appearance and quality further, apply sealant and cleaner to the product every year or two. Happy Building! Thanks ReplyDear S Manian, it is possible to use these tiles outside, although it is not recommended. One piece of advice is to make sure these tiles are laid and sealed correctly, also seal the product every one or two years to maintain the life of the product. Happy Building!
