Hi, I'm thinking of laying this with your 450mm iron grey porcelain tiles on a 9mm WWP plyboard floor and plastered wall for a bathroom, Is this the correct stuff? 3mm bed and 6mm notch on 6.5m2 of floor and 12m2 of wall. How much would I need?

  • Hi Jeremy, this adhesive is perfect use for a floating floor. However, the Iron Grey tiles are floor tiles, please make sure that the wall can take the weight before you order. For 6.5m2 of flooring with the specifications you will need only 2 bags of this product. There is a product calculator that can help you choose which is best. Just click the calculator button underneath the quantity required box. I hope this helps! Happy Building!

Is this stuff suitable for laying granite slabs (500mm by 400 - 800mm) onto a exterior concrete slab for a patio? What depth bed is required? thanks Mark

  • Hi Mark,

This product will be ideal for that kind of laying. I would recommend a thicker bed for outside, just so the tiles have more room to expand in the weather changes.

Also, please remember that as it is outside, not to use the dot and dab method of laying, as this can create air pockets under the tile and can crack with weight.

I hope this helps! Happy Building!

Hi, how many bags will I need to tile 16 square meters? Thanks

  • Hi Mach, yes for 16 square meters with a notch of 6mm and a bed of 3mm thick, you will need 4 bags. For some heavier tiles you might want to consider a 9mm notch and a 6mm bed, this will need 8 bags. You can use our calculator to work out these figures, just click the blue writing underneath the quantity. I hope this helps. Happy Building!

Hi, how many bags would I need to lay about 1000 sq meters of Mosaic Tile, and can I use this product on top of old tiles?? Regards and thanks Aaren

  • Hi Aaren, the quantity of bags for 1000sqm will vary in the way it is laid. A mosaic, should not be so heavy so could suffice with a smaller bed.

A 2mm bed will produce 4.4 sq meters, so it will need 228 bags. If you would like any more assistance please contact our helpful customer service team on 08000 192 405. Also, this adhesive should be strong enough to lay on top of old tiles. However, I would recommend removing old tiles, as this will make the installation job a lot easier for yourself.

    Happy Building!

Hi, is this item the best for low porosity polished porcelain size 600x600x10. If so how many bags for 25 m2 and what bed thickness for applying to the wall? Thanks

  • Hi Dominic, this product will need to be sealed, most porcelain will need to be sealed unless it has been glazed, which means it has been protected. A strong bed of adhesive is a neccessity, for 25sqm and a bed of 6mm and a 9mm notch you will need 12 (20kg) bags. However, it is possible to get away with a smaller notch (6mm) and a bed of 3mm, which is 6 bags. • Hi Ian, this product is ideal for this requirement, one recommendation is that the surface area is free from dust or any form of residue before application. Use one of our cleaning products for maximum results http://www.buildersuperstore.co.uk/products/hg_remover_1_0_l/index.html

  • Hi Ann, this product is perfectly suitable for these requirements, one recommendation is to have a 12mm notch and a 9mm bed at least. Happy Building!

Hi, is this suitable for your slate floor tiles, and how many 300 x 300 would 1 bag fix. Thanks

  • Hi Clive, this bag will vary in the area coverage, depending on the size of the bed you want to lay. For heavy products like natural slate it may need a 6mm thick bed so one bag will produce 2.2 sq meters. A 2mm bed will produce 4.4 sq meters and 9mm bed a 1.45 sq meter area. Happy Building!
