In part 1 of this article we discussed how important it is to design your kitchen properly from the outset and the first steps of kitchen design. In part 2 we will look at the styles of kitchens available, floor tiles and underfloor heating.
When you have your final design, you can decide on the style of kitchen you want. There are thousands of different kitchens available, have a look online and at local retailers, whether traditional in style or contemporary, the choice is yours, but try to choose something that fits into the theme of your home. Choosing complementing worktops and splashbacks at this stage can also be a good idea.
Moving your electrical and plumbing services to their new locations and looking at your flooring options is the next thing to do. Decide if you want to install underfloor heating, or are you going to rely on an existing radiator or new plinth heater? Your electrician and plumber will be able to help you make these decisions.
Stone floor tiles can look beautiful in a traditional kitchen design and tiling your splashbacks can set off your kitchen beautifully. Remember; when purchasing floor tiles, you don't need to tile completely under the kitchen units and by choosing similar floor and wall tiles you can make your kitchen seem bigger and brighter.
If you plan properly, you can get a great new kitchen design and new kitchen layout with minimal extra work and cost.
